Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

The medical staff at Glenwood Life Counseling Center are licensed and trained addictions professionals who carefully evaluate and monitor each patient at GLCC for the use of medication, such as methadone. Methadone will support a person’s long term recovery by eliminating the sickness and cravings generally associated with narcotic addition. Medication coupled with counseling, peer support, and case management will help to ensure recovery from the disease of addiction.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program serves individuals who continue to struggle with drug abuse despite their involvement in Medication Assisted Treatment and weekly counseling. Glenwood uses "evidence based practices" in group and individual counseling, as well as "drug free" social activities, to help these individuals move to recovery. Participants are offered the opportunity to meet 3 or 4 days per week while experiencing the support and encouragement of their peers and professional substance use disorder counselors.
IOP SERVICES
1) 9 hours of programming, provided by Certified or Masters Level Counselors 2) Weekly individual counseling 3) Daily Groups offered in IOP:Symptom managementCoping and self-management skillsLife skillsGender specific health, trauma, relationship and family skillsRelapse PreventionAnger ManagementIllicit Substance Use Recovery Plans 4) Extra groups periodically offered: Field trips, luncheons, projects, art therapy, budgeting, as well as other creative “Fun without Using” time limited activities to meet the needs and interests of current patients.

6) Use of incentives for attendance and/or decrease in illicit substance use.

Individual Counseling

Glenwood Life provides expert one on one counseling. Each patient at GLCC is assigned a primary counselor who is responsible for ensuring that you have the counseling, support, and resources necessary for your recovery. Although medication will help with your physical withdrawal symptoms, counseling is where you will learn how to make changes in your life that will move you to recovery.

Case Management

Case management services at Glenwood Life Counseling Center are provided by trained people in long term recovery. The Peer Case Managers work alongside the professional staff in order to connect patients and community members with the many services that are available, but often difficult to find.
Our Peer Case Managers play a very important role in supporting the recovery of patients at GLCC.

Group Treatment

Addiction and mental illness can be isolating and lonely diseases. Even in recovery, the process of establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships can be difficult. Group treatment at Glenwood Life Counseling Center can offer the support, camaraderie, knowledge, and wisdom of others who have also “walked the walk”. Group therapy, education, and support are some of the preferred and most successful approaches to sobriety and recovery.

Peer Recovery Services
